How to play

Textle in a minute: the rules, every clue, and how scoring and sharing work.

The rules

Six letters. Ten coins. Three guesses.

  • Everyone gets the same 6-letter word each day. A new one unlocks at midnight your time.
  • Buy clues from the Shop: tap a clue to see what it does, then buy it.
  • Guess whenever you like. A wrong guess costs 2 coins and shows any letters in the right spot.
  • Out of coins? You can still guess. A wrong guess at 0 coins ends the game.
  • Your score is the coins you spend, so spend as few as you can. Lower is better.

The clues

Tap any clue in the Shop to see what it does and what it costs before you buy.

Scoring and sharing

  • Solve it and your score is the coins you spent: 0 is perfect, 10 means you used them all. Lower is better. Unsolved has no score (X).
  • Par is the middle score of today’s finished games. It shows on your result once enough people have played. Spend fewer coins than par to beat it.
  • Your streak counts the days in a row you play, win or lose. Your stats also show your solve streak.
  • Sharing shows how you played without giving the word away: how many clues you bought before each guess, and which letters you knew after it. It never says which clues.
